There is so much to discover in Asia that it's important to plan your trip well in advance of your departure. Not only will this allow you to fit in as much as possible, but also time your visit for good weather! There is a lot to see and do, so it's not uncommon for people to visit Asia numerous times and still not see the continent in its entirety.

Asia is in fact a continent that holds 53 countries, all of which offer a diverse and unique experience. When people talk of Asia, they will often be referring to these countries:
* China - famous for the Yangzi River, Beijing and Shanghai and of course the Great Wall of China!
* Cambodia - well known for Phnom Penh (the country's capital city), the Mekong River and Angkor Wat
* Thailand - renowned for its beautiful beaches, great shopping and relaxed atmosphere
* Indonesia - home to Bali, which is a very popular destination as it is affordable, relaxing and offers a raft of activities for people of all ages
You may not have realised that there are some countries that are a part of Asia that are rarely recognised:
* The Russian Federation - a part of northern Asia
* India - a part of south-central Asia
* Armenia, Iraq and Georgia - all part of western Asia and the Middle East
Travel insurance is essential in Asia
Many parts of Asia are considered third world, so hygiene, medical treatment and supplies are often limited, especially for tourists. Therefore, if you are booking a vacation to Asia, it is essential that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance before you leave.
Accommodation in Asia
There is an incredible array of accommodation options when visiting Asia. Each country within Asia will offer a range of resorts, hotels, hostels, villas and lodges which all start at basic and end with pure extravagance!
Asia is an incredibly breathtaking part of the world and should not be missed. It is a very affordable continent to travel in and really does have an almost unlimited amount of activities and sights to see.
